Isaac Powers

Slogan: Divine Wisdom

Well, Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! My name is Isaac Powers and I would like to welcome you to this brief introduction of myself and this campaign!

As of right now, I probably seem like a complete stranger, a name without any substance behind it. Unfortunately we won't be able to meet till Natcon, but in the meantime the best that can be done is a brief yet vague description of myself. Therefore here are a few random facts!

1. I’ve lived in Michigan for my entire existence.

2. I’ve played baseball for 8 years and would consider it to be the 2nd best sport of all time, but one of the most boring sports to watch.

3. I believe that Celsius is the worst drink on the market.

4. This is my 3rd year being involved in Teenpact.

5. I failed my first driving test.

6. I have 5 siblings of which I am 2nd oldest!

Hopefully that makes us somewhat acquainted, but thankfully Natcon is in less than 2 weeks so we can hopefully meet in person quite soon. I wish you all a fond farewell and safe travels to Natcon!

Vision Statement/ Message: Wisdom is a quality that is neither sought after nor valued in our society. Its importance is negated and its application scorned. This begs the question of why would you even want Wisdom? And if you did, how would you obtain it? Proverbs 3:13-14 states "Blessed is the one who finds Wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold." When King Solomon Had the opportunity to ask for just one thing, He asked for wisdom to discern what is right (1 Kings 3:1-15) Proverbs 8:11 echoes this same comparison saying, "for Wisdom is better than jewels and all that you may desire cannot compare with her." These examples show the worth, value, and honor of wisdom above all other pursuits.

But how can this Godly Wisdom be obtained? Psalm 19:7 sets out a road map to pursuing Wisdom, "The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple." James 1:5 says if we ask God for wisdom in faith, he will grant it: "if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him." Desiring and obtaining wisdom is seeking God's word as the source of guidance and counsel in all decisions and areas of your life, and then living out the divine wisdom that God has generously given.
